While large chunk of casual poker players are quite accustomed with Texas Hold 'Em, lots of online card rooms give a plenty of different types of games for players to partake in addition to it. One such game is the Razz. Theoretically speaking, Razz is played in an identical manner to Seven Card Stud. The only point of difference between the two is that in Razz, you are working desperately to make your best five-card low hand, as compared to the high hand you are expected to make in Stud.

Best possible hand in Razz-

If experts are to be believed, each player in Razz will get three cards face down. It includes, their first two cards and their final card and of course four cards that will be face up for the complete table to see. It is worth mentioning in this regard that Aces are always low in Razz, and straights and flushes do not have any significant. Therefore, one can safely say that the best possible hand in Razz is a wheel, which is a straight comprised of A-2-3-4-5.

Bring in-

Before you play Razz, take into account the fact that the hand will begin with an ante, which is more or less about 1/5 of a small bet. In other word, if you are playing $1/2 Razz, the ante will be around $.20. Once you are through this, each player is then dealt three cards, the first two of which come face down and the third coming face up. After the starting deal, it is of paramount importance that the player with the highest card must post what is commonly known as a "bring in," which clearly emphasizes that he or she has to place the low-limit bet size into the pot. You may ask: What if the two people have the same rank of card? In that scenario, the player closest to the left hand of the dealer has to post the bring in.

Betting-

Once the player has posted bring in, each player after have an option of folding, call the bring in, or raise. As you may be aware that Razz is a limit game, the amount that can actually be raised is limited in nature. Point to be noted here is that when the starting portion of the betting is finished, each player remaining in the hand will get their fourth card, which more often comes face up. Interestingly, it is worthwhile pointing that betting in this stage is still done in increments of the low bet.

High limit bet-

The pivotal factor here is that when betting is finished again, the fifth card comes. As is the case with all the cards, this card is also face up. However, do take into consideration the point that the bet size in this stage changes to the high limit bet. Any players who is in the fray after betting has completed will get their sixth card, which by the way is the last one that comes in face up. Another stage of betting will be conducted after this, which will make sure that the hand is finished.

Last card-

In an ideal scenario, the last card that any remaining players are dealt comes in face down. The only point of contention being if you are playing at a full table of eight players, and everyone has been in the picture until the last card. In that sort of scenario, not everyone is going to get cards therefore the dealer will just locate a community card in the middle of the table. Remember that every individual would be free to use that card in his or her hand. Though, it's a rare occurrence.

Showdown stage-

Betting once again happen, and after that game advance to the showdown stage. As you can pretty much assume, the last person to make a bet will be the first to show their hand. In general, cycle continues clockwise from there, with players having an option to either show their hands or throw them into the muck.
