One of the biggest problems with online poker usually isn't finding a poker room, but more so the problem of how to move funds into and out of the rooms. With the new laws in effect, the payout options are becoming a slimmer and more difficult. Here, we will try to guide you some insight into five of the most popular poker rooms on the internet.
Poker Stars :
Poker Stars relies on three main payment methods from US based poker players. ePassporte, one of the premier e-wallets services, is the first of the three. Having an ePassporte account will make it easier to fund your accounts, it is a 2-3 day process. An ePassporte account is a prepaid virtual visa. Since they are a virtual visa card, the fees are a little higher than other e-wallet services.
Poker Stars also accept Visa and MasterCard, however, the majority of US based banks will block most gambling sites. Poker Stars also accepts certified checks and money orders.
When withdrawing from poker stars, you can get your money by using an ePassporte account, or you can request that a paper check be cut and mailed to you. For amounts over $1,000.00, poker stars will usually have the check delivered by courier.
Full Tilt Poker:
Recently, Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt changed its payment options. Aside from ePassporte, full tilt has added MyWebATM, a virtual cash account with a physical ATM card. MyWebATM does charge a monthly maintenance fee of $3.95 per user and has other transactional fees that would not be a great choice for a player that doesn't play to often.
Full Tilt requires that all withdraws under $300.00 must be done using either ePassporte or MyWebATM. Due to recent difficulties, full tilt poker is working on switching their check processing service and has caused some unexpected delays. If you want to have a check sent to, you will have to give them a call.
Absolute Poker:
Absolute Poker has add a new payment option to their line up called Add-Funds. Add-Funds uses long distance phone time instead of cash. You can purchase an Add-Funds phone card online and then deposit your minutes into your Absolute Poker account at which time the funds will be converted into their cash equivalent.
Absolute Poker also uses Visa, MasterCard, cashiers check or money orde, ePassporte account and bank transfers. As you will find with most poker rooms, you will need to contact them for a check or bank account transaction.
Absolute Poker uses ePassporte and paper checks for withdraws. Checks are sent via regular mail and at the time of this writing, it is free.
Ultimate Bet:
Ultimate Bet uses the traditional methods such as Visa, MasterCard, checks, money orders and bank transfers. However, they have recently added Western Union and Money Grams to their options. For bank wires, Ultimate Bet does require that you contact them with the correct information to ensure that the payments are sent to the correct account.
Withdrawing from Ultimate Bet can be done by check or through an existing ePassporte account. Ultimate Bet has a minimum withdraw amount of $50.00 for all checks and players can have the checks sent via fed ex for a $25.00 fee which will be deducted from the amount withdrawn.
Poker.com:
Poker.com's options are pretty limited, but the are working hard on getting more options available. Poker.com recommends using a Visa or MasterCard to fund your account, but it is difficult with the US banks blocking out most of these sites.
Poker.com's only method of withdraw is by check. They deliver across the world, but the services requires a $28.00 fee.
