Apt Signs Three Poker Pro Ambassadors
Added: September 12th, 2008

The three players first headed to Macau for the Asian Poker Tour event at the Galaxy Starworld casino. Their stint in the tournament didn't result in any cash, but while there they were signed as ambassadors for the Asian Poker Tour.

"We have big plans for these guys and are happy they signed with us to spread the word about the APT worldwide," said Tom Hall, CEO of AsianLogic Plc., the company that owns the APT.

The APT couldn't have picked a better group of players to represent it either. They all stayed for the Asia ((Pacific Poker)) Tour events in Macau after the APT and picked up some money in the process.

Do went on to cash in 25th place in the APPT main event, and then picked up a third-place finish in the High Roller event as well. However, Le put in an even better performance in the High Roller event to finish as the winner.

"I'm truly delighted to have won and so happy to have got my deal with the APT off to the best possible start. I'm looking forward to representing the tour around the world," Le said.

"We expected success, but such a result for two of the ambassadors so quickly is brilliant," Hall said.

Le, 25, is fast becoming a major threat on the major tournament circuit. He walked away with four deep cashes in 2008 World Series of Poker events, plus two deep cashes in World Poker Tour events this year, one of which was a televised final-table finish.

With his past wins and other major tournament cashes, Le has accumulated more than $4 million in tournament winnings.

Do is no slouch either on the tournament circuit. Along with his success in Macau, he finished second in the WPT L.A. Poker Classic and also cashed in the WPT Five Star World Poker Classic. He also has a WSOP bracelet that he won in 2005, not long after he decided to play poker professionally in 2004.

Since hitting the tournament circuit, Do has racked up more than $2 million in tournament winnings as well.

Tran may not have had the same success that his new ambassador-mates did in Macau, but he brings with him a heavy poker reputation anyway. He has a laundry list of cashes and wins stretching back to 2003.

Tran's most recent successes took place at the 2008 WSOP where he cashed in seven events, with three final tables and one win. He now has nearly $7 million in tournament winnings.

The next stop on the APT is going to be in Seoul, Korea. The date and location for the event have yet to be announced.
