It was part of Continental Airlines OnePass 21st Birthday Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament held at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.

Shiver, who has been playing poker for approximately four years as a hobby, already has some vacation scheduled with a Mediterranean cruise, a trip to Italy and road football games all on the agenda.

"It was a wonderful experience," said Shiver. "I didn't talk to anyone - win or lose - who didn't have a great time. I feel very fortunate and really luck to be a winner.

Prizes totally more than 25 million OnePass miles were awarded to the top 10 finalists in the tournament, which drew 243 players. David Michaels of San Francisco grabbed $1 million bonus mules for finishing second.

To put things in perspective 21 million frequent flier miles on Continental could be redeemed for up to 200 roundtrip BusinessFirst tickets from Houston to Rom or up 400 roundtrip economy tickets within the U.S.
