This is the first time the EPT has headed to Hungary, and we'll soon find out how many poker players from around the world were willing to follow when action gets started on Tuesday.

If previous events on the tour are any indication, there will be plenty of money to be had for the players who make the money, and some of the top names from around the world will be on hand to work for a piece of it.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is fresh off of a World Poker Tour win over the weekend, but he's already winging his way to Hungary to try for another major event win. He will be joined by a few other PokerStars Team pros as well, including Katja Thater, Luca Pagano, Vicky Coren, Dario Minieri, Noah Boeken, Alex Kravchenko, William Thorson and Marcin Horecki.

Horecki is also fresh off a good run at the EPT London where he made the final table to land in third place.

PokerStars also said it was sponsoring Kara Scott, Marcel Luske, Johnny Lodden, Jan Heitmann and Sebastian Ruthenburg, among others, for the Budapest event. Some of the qualifiers with significant poker resumes include David Colclough, Danny Ryan, Laurence Houghton and Valdemar Kwaysser.

Kwaysser is a native of Hungary and you could probably bet he's hoping to have a nice home-turf advantage for the EPT event. It may just help him that the EPT is a PokerStars tour.

Kwaysser's only major tournament win so far was on the PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour. He won the Costa Rica leg of the tour during its first season.

Perhaps another Hungarian native will take on the EPT event on his home turf. Denes Kalo already has two second-place finishes in EPT events - one in 2007 at the Baden Classic, and another at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo in April this year.

PokerStars is expecting this event to hit about 500 players who will each be ponying up €4,000 for a seat. That could result in a pretty big payout for whoever walks away with an EPT title this time.

The action begins on Tuesday at 1 p.m. CET for the first of two Day 1's for the event. The event is expected to finish on Saturday.
