The Grand takes place at the end of each month and initially started out as a $100,000 guaranteed tournament. PokerRoom has steadily increased the guarantee ever since to finally reach the $1 million mark this month.

The tournament is a three-day event using a heat system that allows the player to choose which qualifying day is most suitable for them. The tournament runs on the last weekend of each month, with the heats taking place on Friday and Saturday, and the final played out on Sunday.

The Grand has a $1,000+$40 direct buy-in, or poker players can win their way in through various qualifiers starting as low as $1+10¢ for multi-table tournament qualifiers or $5+50¢ sit-and-gos.

On top of the increase in The Grand, PokerRoom is also offering its players a $100,000 monthly freeroll. The freeroll will give the winner a $26,500 sponsorship deal plus a trip to London in October for a European Poker Tour event.

Other prizes being spread to winners include tickets to The Grand, Team London qualifiers, ChampionChip qualifiers and more.

So the question is, how does a player get into this freeroll? PokerRoom hosts daily qualifiers at 1:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. CET.

Players who qualify will then move on to one of five starting days for the tournament. From there, they will move on to the final day, which plays on the third Saturday of every month. This month the freeroll will take place Aug. 16.
